Fraud revealed in Fire and Emergency recruitment, 109 selected candidates scored less than the prescribed marks: ACB

Srinagar January 02 (UNI) An investigation conducted by the Anti-Corruption Bureau has revealed that 109 candidates scored less than the prescribed marks in the Fire and Emergency Department job test held in 2020.A statement issued by the Anti-Corruption Bureau said that the ACB investigation found that the Fire and Emergency Recruitment Examinations held in 2020 were rigged.He said that along with the five brothers, relatives of Fire and Emergency Services Department officials and candidates from their respective areas were included in the selection list.According to the ACB statement, after reviewing the OMR papers, it has been revealed that there has been a scam in these exams.He further said that out of 690 selected candidates, 109 scored less than the cut-off marks, but they were also selected.According to them, the above 109 candidates were shown more marks than the marks they obtained in the final list. For example, candidates who originally obtained marks of 11, 17, 24 were also selected and shown 90 marks in the list.According to the ACB, five brothers from Budgam district were also selected and not only that, the names of some relatives of Fire and Emergency Department officials have also been found in the selection list.The ACB statement said that during the verification, it was found that candidates who had studied up to the eighth grade were found to have exceeded the question paper.He said that a thorough investigation into the matter is underway.
