HM Amit Shah Equates Art 370 with Hurdle, Says Its Removal Ushered J&K in Development

Srinagar 23 June (CNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday during a public rally in Jammu division said that the Article 370 was a hurdle in Jammu & Kashmir’s prosperity and development. Shah, who is on a two-day visit to J&K, while addressing a rally in Jammu said that the abrogation of Article 370 has integrated J&K with the rest of India, with the obstacle, in the form of Article 370, to the development of J&K also removed.  He also said that the dream of Shyma Prasad Mukherjee and Pandit Prem Nath Dogra has been realized by integrating J&K with the Union and the revocation of Article 370. “Militancy activities have reduced by 70% so far and the hands holding stones are now seen with laptops. From 51,000 government sponsored self employment units around 70,000 youth are making their livelihood. Also, 28,000 youth were given government jobs,” said Amit Shah. Regarding tourism, he said that during last year 1 crore and 88 lakhs tourists visited J&K. Amit Shah also reiterated the BJP led government’s work in the UT which has put it on the path of development and prosperity. He was also sanguine about his party’s prospect in the next parliamentary election and said that the BJP will get more than three hundred seats . Besides other developmental projects’ inauguration, Amit Shah is expected to lay the foundation stone during his ongoing visit for the ‘Balidan Stambh’ memorial in Srinagar
