Gurez ,22Feb : Indian Army at GUREZ observed 21 Feb 23 as the Mother Language Day.Languages are the most powerful instruments of preserving and developing our heritage. Aim of observing the Mother language day was to promote the dissemination of mother tongues which will serve not only to encourage linguistic diversity and multilingual education but also to develop fuller awareness of linguistic and cultural traditions throughout the world and to inspire solidarity based on understanding, tolerance and dialogue.To achieve greater awareness, the day was observed with Shina poetry and Dard’s songs by locals of Dawar at Log Hut . The event was also observed by AGS students on online platform by recitation of Shina poems & songs on native language. similar program were conducted through out Gurez valley at Kanzalwan, Niru & Baraub. The initiative of Indian Army was appreciated by the locals and this event will go a long way in preservation and promotion of the culture and unique lifestyle of Gurez.
