Jammu and Kashmir: ADC Kishtwar flags off 5 day twin trekking expeditions

Srinagar: On the directions of Director General Youth Services & Sports, Dr Saleem ur Rahman and under the supervision of District Youth Services and Sports Officer Kharati Lal Sharma, two trekking camps were organized Friday here at the district headquarter.

In all, 101 students from different zones of District Kishtwar were flagged off by the Chief Guest, Additional District Development Commissioner, Mohammad Hanief Malik for trekking from Kishtwar to Padder and Kishtwar to Sarthal.

Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest stressed the trekkers to enjoy the event as these activities will be beneficial for their upcoming life.

He asked the organizers to take all measures for the safety of students & strictly follow SOPs of Covid-19. He also complemented the Sports department for organizing these wonderful events.

DYSSO described the benefits of trekking adding such expeditions provide an opportunity to experience the rich flora & fauna, improve cardiovascular strength, social benifits, reduces stress, inculcates the understanding and improve overall fitness among all.

The twin group of trackers were well equipped and started their expedition zealously under the camp Chief K.L. Sharma, Subash Chander and organising Secretary Javed Iqbal Sheikh and Sanjay Sharma along with other camp in charges.

The trekking areas for Camp 1st are Gulab Garh, Leondi, Massu, Kundhail and for 2nd camp Sarthal, Ghan, Chandali, Bimalnag.

Others present on the occasion were Ram Saroop, Javed Iqbal, Vijay Kumar, Ravi Kumar, Sanjay Sharma, Suman Kant, Kawal Krishan, Himanshu Sen, Kalwant Singh, Akshay Kumar,Vikas Deep, Milan Kumar and official deployed for both camps as advance party are Kailash Kumar,Ram Loki, Tenzin Dedon, Tandup Durjayn, Ravi Kumar, Shaiyar Ahmed, Sadam Hussain, Anil Kumar, Faiyaz Ahmed, Raj Singh, Harish Kumar and Kuldeep Singh.
