Jammu and Kashmir recorded 878 fresh Covid cases, 11 deaths

Jammu and Kashmir today recorded 878 fresh Covid cases, while 11 fatalities took place in the past 24 hours, taking the tally to 79,106 and the death toll to 1,242, officials said.

Jammu district reported the highest number of 252 new cases, followed by 156 in Srinagar district.

There are 15,460 active cases, while 624,04 patients have recovered so far, they said. Eleven deaths took place in the past 24 hours in Jammu and Kashmir, six in Jammu and five in the valley, the officials said.

Meanwhile in Leh, 48 persons tested positive for Covid in Ladakh, taking the virus caseload in the union territory to 4,477, officials said on Sunday.

With 41 more patients cured of the disease, the total number of active cases in the region stood at 1,101, which included 769 in Leh and 332 in Kargil district.
