Kathua, July 23: In a decisive action against drug menace, a Police team of P/S Lakhanpur on a routine Naka checking at New Toll Plaza Lakhanpur led by Sub-Inspector Sikander Chouhan under the supervision of Inspector Sanjeev Chib SHO Police Station Lakhanpur intercepted one truck bearing registration No. PB12N-3721 signalled to stop for checking. During checking 240 Nos. of cardboard cartoons , each cartoon containing 120 bottles of “WINCIREX” cough syrup making total 28800 bottles of 100/100 ML and 191520 Nos. of “SPASMO-PROXYVON-PLUS” capsules stealthily hidden under the soap cartoons were found laden in the said truck which were being smuggled from Ludhiana to Bijbehara Srinagar. The said truck was driven by Balbir Singh @ Beeri S/o Chaman Lal R/o Hedon Bet Tehsil Samrala District Ludhiana Punjab along with his associate Sham Lal S/o Kewal Krishan R/o Hedon Bet Tehsil Samrala District Ludhiana Punjab. Both the accused persons were arrested and vehicle so involved was also seized by the police.
On this a case FIR No. 67/2020 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Lakhanpur against the arrested persons and the investigation is under process
