Modalities for establishment of one stop centre worked out at Udhampur

DDC directs for immediate establishment of OSC
UDHAMPUR 12 OCT 2020:- In order to establish the one stop centre at Udhampur District Development Commissioner Udhampur Dr Piyush Singla convened a meeting of officers of Social Welfare Department wherein Dr Jupaka Madhavi, Senior Consultant Ministry of Women and Child Development Govt of India also participated to chalk out the modalities for establishment of One Stop Centre at Udhampur (OSC)
Dr Madhavi briefed the meeting that One Stop Centres (OSCs) are intended to support women affected by violence, in private and public spaces, within the family, community and at the workplace. Women facing physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and economic abuse, irrespective of age, class, caste, education status, marital status, race and culture will be facilitated with support and redressal. Aggrieved women facing any kind of violence due to attempted sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic violence, trafficking, honour related crimes, acid attacks or witch-hunting who have reached out or been referred to the OSC will be provided with specialized services.
She further added that the OSCs will be integrated with 181 and other existing helplines. Women affected by violence and in need of redressal services could be referred to OSC through these help lines.
DDC directed the Social Welfare Department to establish the OSC in the premises of ICDS building at Udhampur immediately so that the services of OSC can be availed by victims of violence. Necessary directions were also given to other line departments for the establishment of OSC at the earliest.
Among others ADDC Ashok Kumar, DSWO Priyanka Sharma, CDPO Udhampur Yashpaul Sharma, officers of Mahila Shakti Kendra and PO ICPS were also present in the meeting.
