Srinagar, 05-Massive traffic jam on Mughal Road in Poshana area in district Poonch has made the road users suffer for a long time.
Commuters caught in long traffic jams in Poshana area of peer ki gali complained that on the name of checking/ frisking by Army and Police, long traffic jams are being created on Mughal Road. Many vehicles remain trapped for hours together in the traffic jams. The passengers travelling along with their children had to suffer for a long.They pointed out that this has become routine now in Poshana and bufliyaz area. They said not only trucks and other load carriers, but many Tempo travellers and other light motor vehicles are made to wait for long on the name of checking every day. Since the road is narrow, a jam like situation is caused every day.While demanding immediate stoppage of harassment to commuters who have to wait for hours to get through this checkpoint at Poshana, they added that Patients, students, children, old age persons and ladies are the worst sufferers. The commuters added that each of the passengers is frisked and from vehicle checking to Aadhar card number, such frisking exercises on the mental health of people especially on children in the area. “Most of the patients prefer to reach Srinagar hospitals via this road, however such level of frisking has taken a heavy toll on them”,one of the commuters added.Meanwhile, security forces on duty told CNS that it is a routine security check and the vehicles are being allowed to move one by one. However, less number of forces creates a jam like situation in the jam.“In case of any specific information with regard to smuggling of contraband and movement of some suspicious people, we lay naka to nab such elements. For thorough checking and frisking, the general public also suffers some times”,they added.(CNS) |
