Jammu, August 14: A day before Independence Day, a suspicious bag triggered a bomb scare and panic in the winter capital of the UT of J&K. Quoting official sources CNS reported that a unattended bag was found near a police check post in Satwari, a few meters away from Jammu Airport.“The black color bag was found on the roadside. The bag apparently looked like a laptop and also had airline tags on it, but in the run-up of security alert due to the Independence Day celebrations, police teams were extra cautious and informed the Bomb Disposal Squad,”they said.Notably, ahead of Independence Day, militant related activities have increased in the Jammu region.On Friday, newly recruited militant was arrested from Kishtwar along with a weapon, while cache of arms and ammunition, and IED was also recovered from Poonch’s Mendhar.(CNS)
