JKBC expresses anger over hike in power tariff & power cuts

21-Nov;-Jammu And Kashmir business Confederation(The Business Fraternity) has expressed resentment against the Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) for what they termed as arbitrary increase in power tariffs and frequent power cuts.In a statement issued to CNS, JKBC President, M Altaf dar said that the Power Development Department (PDD) seems to be bent derailing the UT J&K economy as the persistent, power hike and long power shutdowns have been hitting hard the local residents, the business of small entrepreneurs and the shopkeepers. Resentment is growing against the department for repeated power hikes and cuts which is also affecting trading community adversely particular in those areas that are the hub of commercial activity.Students as well as coaching students who are attending schools,colleges, university, coaching institutions,maximum students are attending classes during this harsh winter and season and some are preparing for their exams face great difficulties because of it, they are unable to make their study plans, this creates frustration among them, they suffer mood problems, all this affects their performance in classes as in examination also. The patients who are getting their treatment also face many difficulties, the events of theft are increasing, the thieves get chances of steak in the darkness (power cuts) created because of the power breakdown of electricity, so there is a kind of fear among people.
