JPDA demands the govt to allow private clinics and nursing home to buy vaccines directly

In a statement to the Media the President of The Jammu Pharmaceutical Distributors Association Sh. Rakesh Gupta updated the Media about the developments after the last PC by JPDA on April 28. He also listed new demands to the JK UT Administration and also gave new suggestions to handle the devastating Covid Pandemic more effectively to save human lives.The JPDA President Sh. Rakesh Gupta thanked the Union Government for allocation of Inj Remdesiver and Inj Toclizumab after the JPDA raised the issue of non allocation of these much needed medicines to the JK UT. He also apprised the media that now these Injections are available with the JK Medical Supplies Corporation who have distributed the same to the Hospitals across J&K . However, he expressed his dis satisfaction on the slow pace of work of installing Oxygen Plants still. He also thanked the UT Administration for agreeing to our demand of exhibiting the bed availability online.The President JPDA appealed to the Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha with folded hands that it would be a real, sincere and the greatest tribute to suffering humanity and to Late Sh. Jagmohan Malhotra Former Governor J & K if your goodselves convenes an urgent meeting of the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine board as its Chairman to allocate massive funds and authorize the board to procure Oxygen Concentrators / Ventilators / Oxygen Plants / Oxygen Cylinders / Pulse Oxymeters etc whatever is needed in this moment of crisis for treatment of Covid 19 positive patients and also to establish temporary facilities of Oxygen Beds wherever needed and possible . He urged the Hon’ble LG to distribute such procured critical care products & equipment not only in Jammu Kashmir Ladakh but pan India wherever most needed. He also said that the huge finances available with the Shrine board have been because of the large number of the devotees contributing their offerings to Maa Vaishno Devi from all over the country. Many of these devotees have already lost their lives while many are struggling and fighting the Covid 19 pandemic. He further said that the time to act is now for the Shrine Board to save the precious Human Lives with the Blessings of Maa Vaishno Devi.The JPDA President thanked the Hon’ble PM of India for the exemption of Customs Duty on the import of Oxygen Concentrators for a limited period and also appealed to him to be kind enough and announce immediate exemption of GST & IGST on all Life Saving Medicines / Medical Equipment / Gadgets and Sanitization related products including Sanitizers and Sanitizing Machines needed to fight the prevailing Pandemic Imported from abroad and sold within India on the same lines.The JPDA President questioned the Administration on shutting down most of the much needed super specialties across hospitals in Jammu and said that it would not be in the interest of the patients. He appealed to the UT Administration to make them functional as soon as possible. Sh. Rakesh Gupta also appealed to all the Muslim brothers that in this time of crisis it would be advisable and sensible to stay home and stay safe maintaining social distancing during the forth coming holy EID Festival.He also questioned the tall claims of the Health Department in J&K UT regarding availability of O2 Beds as patients are running from pillar to post for beds.Further , he suggested the below to the J&K UT Administration :To extend the Lockdown in Jammu further after assessing the situation .To allow the private Hospitals / Clinics and Nursing Homes to buy Vaccines directly from the manufacturers for vaccination as aged people cannot stand in the long ques flouting social distancing norms. To increase the Vaccination Centers for 18 – 44 yrs.To use the JDA massive parking at Jammu bus stand as Drive thru Vaccination place as done in other parts of INDIA.To start door to door vaccination if feasible .To allow functioning of only the Essential Services Government departments so that there are less people on the roads.To engage retired doctors and para medical staff to handle the increasing number of covid positive patients.To make a Senior Doctor Incharge of every Covid Ward.To monitor all Covid wards through CCTV or Drones for effective working .To allow the business people on rotational basis to open their shops for maintenance purposes as many shops and stores have perishable goods too.To allow Oxygen Cylinders for other ailments too e.g. Heart patients / Cancer patients etc to be used at homes.To fix the rate for HRCT for which we feel is being over prescribed by doctors to almost all the Covid Positive cases and at the same time being over charged by the private diagnostic centres.To urge the GST council to extend the date for filing all types of returns and payment of taxes atleast by 3 months.To issue instructions to the newly appointed Nodal Officer for Online Clearance in a time bound manner 24 x 7 for all the Covid related relief material to be received from outside the J&K UT free of cost.
