Back to Village’ programme, a milestone towards good governance: Nazim Zai

BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 2. Secretary, Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Nazim Zai Khan, today visited far flung Surinder Panchayat halqa in Arin Block of Bandipora district as a visiting officer under the ambitious ‘Back to Village’ programme phase IV to assess the development scenerio of the Panchayat.While speaking on the occasion, Secretary outlined the essence of government’s outreach programme saying that it a milestone towards ensuring good governance.Nazim Zai interacted with the officers, PRIs, public and frontline workers on a variety of public issues and sought feedback from the public on various development parameters of the Panchayat.He visited educational institutions in Arin block besides inspecting sites of various development works. He laid foundation stone for Foot Bridge to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 15.85 lakh. He also inspected under- construction tourist hut in the area.He distributed sports kits among the students, mother and child care kits among the lactating mothers and land passbooks among the beneficiaries.Earlier, he witnessed a cultural bonanza presented by the students at Arin block.DDC member, Arin Ghulam Mohi ud Din Rather, BDC member, Arin were present also.Assistant Commissioner Revenue Parvaiz Rahim, Tehsildar Bandipora, Project Manager DIC were among the district officers accompanied the Secretary during his visit.
