BUDGAM, DECEMBER 11: Continuing on spot assessment of availability of essential services and infrastructure development, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, S F Hamid today toured Khanpora and Wadipora wards of Budgam Town.The DC was accompanied by President Municipal Council Budgam, Mushtaq Ahmad, Vice President Sami-Ullah, Ward Member Mehraj Ud Din Bhat and concerned District Officers, respected locals and senior citizens.During extensive tour to interior areas of these wards, DC met local residents to take direct feedback from them regarding essential services and development process. He also took first hand appraisal of services, supply of potable water supply, construction of lanes and drains and other infrastructure development.The DC directed concerned to ensure smooth supply of essential services and works including drainage construction interior links, tile works on lanes, bylanes and development of parks, bridges, culverts at all designated spots be expedited in these wards to ensure better facilities to general public.Stressing on early execution of works taken up during recently held My Town My Pride ambitious programme in all 6 Municipalities of Budgam, DC said that he would visit 72 wards of all Municipalities of the district to take on spot assessment of essential services and feedback from the people. Besides, awareness of schemes and public welfare initiatives of government, the aim is to get feedback from the public.Stressing on cleanliness and sanitation, the DC appealed locals to avoid dumping of garbage, cow dung and other waste material roadside and instructed concerned to ensure prompt removal and dumping of it.
