Srinagar, 07-Sept; Even after the administrative approval, Tral Gamraj Batagund road awaits completion for which the residents have expressed resentment against the government for failing to provide them with road facility. The upgradation, strengthening of Tral gamraj baatagung road including Aarigam and dobiwan links under NABARD( RIDF-XXVII) in Tral has not been completed due to slackness on the part of the Department of PWD,(R&B) Kashmir. Moreover, the forthcoming winter season will lead to further delay in start of work. The aggrieved residents said that they are miserably suffering as till date the much-needed upgradation work on 5.75km road has not been completed for the reasons best known to those at the helm of affairs in the R&B department. One of the locals told CNS that villagers moved from pillar to post to seek the redressal of their demand, ‘but nothing’ was done.He said that “work on the road was started some two years back under PMGSY, which was left midway, and was never restarted till the date, due to the reasons better known to concerned authorities.”Another resident told CNS that “all other roads in Tral were repaired and macadamized, even in the far off places, but Gamiraj road, which is only 2km far from sub district headquarter, was ignored, even after several reminders.”The residents sought immediate intervention of higher ups into the matter and demanded road repairs at the earliest.Meanwhile, on being contacted by the CNS, Higher ups in Roads and Buildings Department said that the reasons of incompletion will be sought from the concerned staff and accordingly they will be directed to finish the same.(CNS)
