Kulgam , Aug 10: A remote village in South Kashmir’s Kulgam area of Jammu and Kashmir’s has achieved 100% vaccination among adult population against the coronavirus disease (Covid-19).Officials have said that vaccination in Supar village was covered under the J&K model, a 10-point strategy to inoculate everyone who is eligible for the shots at a faster pace.The village has achieved 100 per cent vaccination for those in the age group of 45-70 and also in the age group of 18- 45 years, despite the initial vaccine hesitancy.Officials have said healthcare workers faced a number of hurdles but worked hard to inoculate every adult in Supar.Senior officials of the health department told that media organisations including correspondent Tariq Yusuf played a pivotal role in creating the awareness among people due to which they shunned their hesitancy.Meanwhile the locals appreciated the role of DC Kulgam Dr Bilal Mohi-ud-Din for his efforts in achieving the 100 percent vaccination rate.
