Being utilised for testing, vaccination & mass awareness drives in the district

ANANTNAG, JUNE 15:

In compliance to instructions from the Govt, District Administration Anantnag led by Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Piyush Singla, has established 05 (five) bedded Covid Care Centres in different Panchayat Halqas of the district.

Speaking about these centres, the DC said the concept is a novel one to mitigate Covid in rural areas by strengthening Community Triaging besides creating basic rural healthcare infrastructure for benefit of the people in these areas. He appealed covid positive persons with no or mild symptoms having dearth of space at their homes to utilise these centres for isolation and basic treatment.

The COVID Care Centres are being utilised for Covid testing and vaccination purposes and are also serving as convenient sites for Health, Revenue and RDD teams/officials for generating awareness regarding Covid Appropriate Behaviour among the masses at their doorsteps across the district. The calm rural ambience of these centres provides opportunity to the people to share some light moments when they get tested or vaccinated there.

Operating from Panchayat Ghars, schools and other public buildings, these centres have been equipped with Covid kits containing oximeters, non-contact thermometers, sanitizers, medicines, masks and other facilities.

Informing about the status of Covid Care Centre Panchayat Halqa Nanil, Block Development Officer, Khoveripora, Bilal Ahmad said the centre established at Govt GMS has served the officials in sampling and vaccination drives. He thanked the Sarpanches and other PRI members for their active and timely support in setting up these centres in various Panchayat Halqas of the block.

The Sarpanch of P.H Nanil, Ishfaq Ahmad Dar, said it is a welcome step by the Government and would benefit people in rural areas. He thanked the administration for such initiatives and also pledged to extend full cooperation to officials in utilising the centre efficiently.

The Block Medical Officer Mattan, Dr. Saleem Beg said that basic medical essentials have been made available at the centre adding these centres will help people in different ways.

Meanwhile, people hailed this move from the authorities for making benefits of vaccination available at their doorsteps along with provisions of testing and mass awareness sessions at these centres.
