April 26: `Police have arrested two persons and seized four vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of raw materials in Budgam.
Officers from Police Station Beerwah arrested two persons and seized 03 loaded tippers & 01 JCB machine involved in illegal extraction and transportation of raw materials in Bonhama Beerwah. The accused persons have been identified as Javed Ahmed Mir son of Abdul Rashid Mir resident of Patlibagh Budgam and Abid Hussain Dar son of Mohammad Amin Dar resident of Nasrullah Pora Budgam. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 49/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Beerwah and investigation has been initiated.
Police requests the people not to indulge in illegal mining activities from any Nallah as it is the violation of Government rules. Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
