Samoon visits Lolab areas during final phase of Back to Village IV

KUPWARA, NOVEMBER 03: On the third and final phase of ‘Back to Village’ IV (B2V4), Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department, Dr. Asgar Hassan Samoon, today visited various areas of Lolab subdivision of Kupwara district to take stock of implementation of the ambitious programme besides assessing development profile of the area.Deputy Commissioner, Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray; Vice Chairman, District Development Council Kupwara, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir besides concerned district officers accompanied the Principal Secretary.Principal Secretary, who is also Mentor Secretary for Kupwara district, visited NTPHC Maidanpora and inspected various wards and facilities including X-Ray, Labour Room, Laboratory, Pharmacy and Dental section. He also interacted with doctors, paramedics and patients and enquired about facilities.On the occasion, Dr. Samoon distributed PM Ayushman Golden Cards among the beneficiaries.Dr. Samoon also visited Shahabad Warnow, the birth place of renowned Islamic Scholar Moulana Anwar Shah Kashmiri (RA), 24 kilometers from Kupwara district headquarter. He inspected the old residential house of the Late scholar and gave directions to JD Planning to take the matter with Archaeology Department for its safety and preservation.Principal Secretary also offered obeisance (Fateha) at the graveyard of late Moulana.On the occasion, DC directed ACD Kupwara for proper fencing and beautification of the graveyard.Meanwhile, the local people presented a memorandum of demands to the Principal Secretary.Principal Secretary inspected under construction Hemaal bridge at Offen Lolab, the work on which had stopped. He resolved the issue on the spot and it was decided to start the construction work within next 10 days.Dr. Samoon also visited Government Higher Secondary School, Warnow and interacted with the students and staff of the school.He appreciated the efforts of DC Kupwara in initiating Zimadari programme across the district and asked the teachers to strengthen the efforts for making the programme more successful.Principal Secretary also participated in Gram Panchayat at Warnow-A and interacted with the PRIs and general public. He distributed Ayushman Golden cards among the beneficiaries on the occasion.
