Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the opening ceremony of the Khelo India Water Sports Festival at Dal Lake. A total of 800 athletes from 28 States and Union Territories are participating in this mega national sports event, which aims to project the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir as the Water Sports Capital of the Country.The hosting of this national-level sporting event with participants from across the country sends a strong message of peace, normalcy, and progress in J&K. While winter sports attract visitors during the snow season, water sports will boost summer tourism and significantly benefit the local economy.
