Nagaland will celebrate its 58th Statehood day tomorrow. It became the 16th State of the Union of India on 1st December 1,963. The formal inauguration of the state was done by the then President of India Dr. S. Radhakrishnan.On the occasion, a state level programme will be held at Civil Secretariat Plaza Kohima tomorrow wherein Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio will deliver his speech and takes the salute from the marching contingents. The contingents include 4th NAP Battalion, District Executive Force Kohima, Special Task Force, 15th NAP Mahila Battalion and PTS Brass Band.Nagaland Governor R N Ravi has greeted the people of the state on the eve of 58th Statehood day. In a message, Governor Ravi said today we stand at the crossroads of history. He said the right decision taken today will determine our future and the destiny of our coming generations. Stating that as the state embarks on a new journey on this Statehood Day, the Governor urged upon all to commit ourselves to reclaim our state from violence and desolation and restore the glories it deserves.
