Omar condoles demise of his ex-physician due to COVID-19

Srinagar, May 21: Former chief minister Omar Abdullah condoled the demise of his former physician, who died due to COVID-19 in Chandigarh.Mr Abdullah, who is the vice-president of National Conference (NC), said Dr Inderjyot was his physician when he was the J&K Chief Minister. “Subsequently he was posted to Chandigarh as a liaison officer where he helped scores of people who were visiting PGI for treatment,” Mr Abdullah wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.The former chief minister said Dr Inderjyot lost the battle against COVID on Thursday. “May God bless his soul with eternal rest,” he added.The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has said that 329 doctors have died due to COVID-19 during the second wave of the pandemic in the country. During the first wave in 2020, India had lost 748 doctors.
