5 Sep: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today assured people of J&K that peoples conference will continue to struggle for the restoration of Article 370 through dialogue, peaceful & constitutional means and said that Article 370 was the bridge between J&K and the rest of country and had played a very important role for the emotional attachment between the two but since its abrogation, nothing positive has happened in J&K .Forced policies, Amendments & pressures are unacceptable and are not at all in the interest of Nation, Vakil was addressing today a convention of party workers in Muqam Sharief sopore , Vakil Also lambasted at NC & PDP leadership and said these two parties have always compromised the interests of people of J&K for personal Interests from time to time. History is a testament to the fact that both NC & PDP allowed continues hollowing of Article 370 during their regime in alliance with centre Governments whether it was Congress or BJP .The people of J&K will never forgive the leadership of NC and PDP for trampling upon interest of people of J&K to satiate their lust for power Vakil added. PSA, POTA and Pellet gun is the hallmark of these two parties. People should not forget it.It was Farooq Abdullah who in 2002 enacted POTA in Jammu and Kashmir in alliance with BJP when his son was Junior Minister in BJP Government. Who is responsible for thousands of innocent killings in the last three decades? Who is responsible for slapping PSA’s on our youth? In the last three decades, J&K has had either a NC or a PDP Governments.The two parties have taken turns in killing, maiming, jailing and humiliating people of J&K. Now, they have the audacity to project themselves as the victims where as in reality they have all along been the ones creating victims out of People of J&K”, but they must understand They can no longer mislead & befool the people of J&K. Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Kulgam, Dr Abrar Kripak (KAS), and other officials from MVD department, Health department and owners of different sumo and mini-bus stand association of Kulgam also attended the function.During the camp, it was given out that the aim of the programme was to sensitise the driver community about safe and disciplined driving. It was enjoined upon the drivers to follow some golden rules of safe driving which include using a seat belt, not to over-speed, keeping your vehicle fit, avoid using a phone while driving and be sober on road.Speaking on the occasion, ADC said that the need of the hour is to impart awareness about registration, fitness of vehicles and procedures for obtaining driving license among car owners and drivers of commercial vehicles. He further said that the majority of the vehicles do not follow the road safety norms. He urged the transport department to conduct such awareness programmes on regular basis and give the drivers basic training regarding safe driving.Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Regional Transport Officer Kulgam pointed out, “Ensuring road safety is a key priority for the government. He said that in order to make our roads safer, there has to be a collaborative and multi-pronged initiative that needs joint action from the administration, civic authorities, automobile industry, civil society and commuters in general. Sensitizing the public about their roles in ensuring road safety is as vital as the placement of curbs, underpasses and safety features for pedestrians.(CNS) |
