KISHTWAR, NOVEMBER 18: Regional Transport Authority Kishtwar today issued permits under different categories at a meeting held under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Dr Devansh Yadav-IAS.A total of 33 applications were received for contract carriage, out of which 19 permits were approved, besides 4 applications were received for stage carriage and 1 permit was approved, while against 5 applications received for Route change,2 were approved after proper verification and discussion.The concerned authorities were asked to identify the overcrowded and Hungary routes to maintain a balance between the requirement and availability of transport.RTO Kishtwar Romesh Samotra was directed to enforce road safety mechanism measures, while traffic police and police authorities were asked to ensure effective traffic regulation, identification of parking and improve safety on roads as recommended by National Road Safety Policy 2010 and directions of Supreme Court of India.
