The former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta said that the BJP had replaced the hopelessness in the Union Territory with holistic development and assured that the spree of development will continue in the Union Territory with same speed as it was in the past.
In a statement issued today, the senior BJP leader expressed gratitude to the electorates, who polled their votes in his favour of BJP candidates in the DDC polls which were conducted for the first time in the history of J&K with an aim to strengthen the democracy at grass roots level.
The senior BJP leader said that the whole Panchayati Raj system is now implemented in J&K and it was possible only with the abrogation of Article 370.
For the last 70 years, the J&K people were deprived of their due rights under the grab of Article 370. Now, the people of Jammu & Kashmir are thankful to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on whose directions the DDC polls were conducted peacefully,” he said, adding that every single district of Jammu & Kashmir witnessed massive participation in the election process indicating restoration of people’s faith in the democratic process.
The former Deputy Chief Minister said that the BJP led Government at the Centre is committed for the overall development of Jammu and Kashmir, he said, adding that the people of UT have witnessed unimaginable growth and development during six years of BJP at the Centre. He reiterated that the BJP Government has ensured that all regions and sections of the society were treated with fairness and justice.
“During the period of BJP, the country and Union Territory has progressed steadfastly in all sectors”, the BJP senior leader said, adding that the programmes and policies of the BJP are people friendly and millions of poor people have availed benefits of these schemes”, he added. “BJP made development as a narrative and discourse in the Union Territory, and dispersed the fruits of development beyond the confines,” Gupta said, adding that BJP has a vision of a vibrant, progressive and united Jammu and Kashmir.
“We amply demonstrated to the people of Jammu and Kashmir how big projects like AIIMS, IIM, IIT, expansion of Jammu Airport, etc. can be executed in the shortest possible time. It is this mantra of development and good governance, which we are presenting to the people of Jammu and Kashmir for seeking fresh and decisive mandate.
