Srinagar 19 Aug; The Swarnim Vijay Mashaal arrived in Leh on 19 August 2021 after a 30 days journey through Western and Eastern Ladakh.In a statement to CNS, the Swarnim Vijay Marshal was received with fanfare at Leh by the Station Commander, Brigadier CG Arun and handed over to Lieutenant General PGK Menon, General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps at the iconic Leh War Memorial in the presence of soldiers and officers of Fire and Fury Corps and NCC cadets. Colonel Sonam Wangchuk, MVC (Retd) and Dr. Phunsog Angmo D/o Late Colonel Chewang Rinchen, MVC, SM (Retd) were also present on the occasion besides a large number of Veterans and Veer Naris. General Officer Commanding, Fire and Fury Corps laid a wreath at the Leh War Memorial on behalf of all ranks of the Fire and Fury Corps to commemorate the occasion. Indian Army and Indian Air Force helicopters carried out a fly past over Leh War Memorial on this solemn occasion. (CNS)
