Baramulla, 03-Apr : Baramulla Police shifted three Notorious Drug Peddlers to kotbalwal Jail Jammu after they were booked Under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.In a statement issued, police spokesperson said that acting tough against drug peddlers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Baramulla Police booked notorious drug smuggler namely Sageer Ahmad Mir @ Sata resident of Janwarpora Sopore, Bilal Ahmad Bhat @ Bilal resident of Durhama Wagoora & Manzoor Ahmad Sada @ Manzoor Auto resident of Sada Mohalla Pattan under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority. The booked drug peddlers have been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jail Jammu.Pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug peddlers and were involved in promoting drug abuse by supplying drugs to local youth of Pattan, Kreeri Wagoora and other areas of District Baramulla. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.Meanwhile, General public of Baramulla District Particularly Pattan town have appreciated the role of Police for their action against drug peddler.
