Srinagar , 01-Apr: Kashmir University’s Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES) organised a two-day football refresher course for football coaches, PETs and MPEd students from different parts of the Kashmir Valley. The course offered hands-on training to 25 participants in varied aspects of football, especially in technical and physical areas of the popular game. Director DPES Prof Showket Ahmad Shah, who had inaugurated the programme, assured that the Directorate will provide all possible support to coach and train its various stakeholders in indoor and outdoor sports activities. He said the Directorate has an experienced group of coaches who hold a lot of potential to share their expertise with our students and other stakeholders outside the university.“These refresher courses will help the participants to enhance their coaching skills and further contribute to overall development of sports in the Kashmir Valley,” Prof Showket said, appreciating the initiative taken by Sajid Yousuf Dar, international football coach/coach educator who conducted the two-day refresher course.Prof Showket also thanked Ishfaq Ahmed, international footballer/assistant coach of ‘Kerela Blasters’ for sharing his experiences with the participants.(CNS)
