Water Resources Authority Organizes One Day Workshop to Train I&FC Engineers

Srinagar , July 14: JK Water Resources Regulatory Authority on Tuesday conducted one day workshop to train Irrigation and Flood Control (I&FC) Engineers of JK Government for better Consumer ServiceOne Day workshop began with the inaugural speech of Er. Muzamil Rafiqi, AEE, JKWRRA followed by the profound and interactive lecture delivered by Er Altaf Hussain Baba and former AEE, JKWRRA.During the course of discussions and deliberations many doubts of the field Engineers were addressed in light of the Jammu and Kashmir Water Resources (Regulation & Management) Act, 2010 , Rules 2011, Regulations of the Authority and technical perspectives observed at the sites.It was agreed by all the participants that by conducting this workshop they have come to know the importance of regulation 16 (service performance standard) to facilitate the Authority in effective monitoring of all schemes.The vote of thanks was delivered by Er Mehrajuddin, Sherwani, Executive Engineer JKWRRA after brief Technical input by Assistant Engineer Er Mohammed Akeeb.

In the end, Er Naseer Ahmad Kakroo Superintending Engineer, Circle Srinagar-Ganderbal delivered an informative lecture and explained in detail the importance of the Authority in respect of continuous surveillance of the licensee/utilities and resolution of consumer- utility disputes.He impressed upon all the field officers to ensure all the information sought by Authority to be submitted in time for the overall development of the utility and welfare of the consumers .Meanwhile he concluded the session by expressing his sincere thanks to the Authority for conducting the workshop with an intention to bridge the gap between field Engineering , the Modern Engineering Science and the JK Water Resources Regulatory Authority.
