A MoU Signed by IIM Jammu and School of Management, University of Bradford

Jammu, 05 Sept: Expanding its international relations, Indian Institute of Management Jammu has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the School of Management, University of Bradford, UK. The MoU is aimed at achieving the excellence in academics and research by both the institutes. The MoU was signed by Prof. B. S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu and Prof. Shirley Congdon, Vice Chancellor, University of Bradford, UK. “These collaborations are a vital part of IIM Jammu’s international endeavors and these will be helpful in fostering the advancement in teaching, research, cultural understanding as well as the international reputation of both the institutes through student exchange, faculty exchange, joint management and research programs” Prof. Sahay added. Prof. Shirley Congdon also congratulated the two institutes in lieu of the event that will contribute to expansion of the global horizons of the two partnering institutes.

The MoU signing ceremony took place using the virtual platform and has also been witnessed by other esteemed members from the School of Management, University of Bradford and IIM Jammu. From School of Management it included Prof. Vishanth Weerakkody, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences (FoMLSS), Prof. Amir Sharif, Associate Dean (International and Accreditation) of the FoMLSS, Prof. Sankar Sivarajah, Head of the School of Management and Prof. Nripendra P. Rana, Head of the International Business, Marketing and Branding Research Centre, School of Management. From IIM Jammu it included Prof. Jabir Ali, Chairperson Placements, Dr. Sarbjit Singh, Chairperson International Relations and the other faculty colleagues.
School of Management, University of Bradford, is heir to a long tradition of teaching based on the needs of businesses and markets. Founded in 1897 by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Bradford, the school has succeeded in continually refining its specialized teaching in management science to adapt its courses to constant changes in local and global economic environments. The quality of its strategy and results is internationally recognized by Its triple-crown international accreditation (AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS).
IIM Jammu, on the MoU signing occasion, also presented a virtual tour of the permanent IIM Jammu campus, to the faculty members of School of Management, University of Bradford. IIM Jammu believes that it is important for aspiring business students to gain both international exposure and international perspective. Studying in a foreign country is definitely an experience of a lifetime and every student should get an opportunity to try it out at least once during his or her academic career. To facilitate this, IIM Jammu has academic collaborations with nearly ten foreign institutions across the globe.
