DGP J&K inaugurates Open Air Gyms at Udhampur, Reasi; also inaugurates Conference Hall at RPHQ

JKP on forefront to make its people safe and secure: DGP

Srinagar, July 24: The Director General of Police J&K Shri Dilbag Singh inaugurated two Open Air Gymnasium one each at Udhampur, Reasi and dedicated these health facilities to the general public besides an upgraded Conference Hall at Range Police Headquarter Udhampur and Lower Subordinates Quarters (LSQ) at Arnas. The DGP was on a visit to twin districts of Udhampur Reasi Range today to review the crime and security scenario of these districts.

On his arrival at Udhampur the DGP was received by IGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Shri Sujit Kumar, SSP Udhampur Ms Sargun Shukla. Later on the DGP accompanied by IGP Jammu and DIG Udhampur Reasi Range visited Reasi where he was received by SSP Reasi Ms Rashmir Wazir. The DGP was presented Guard of Honours at both the district headquarters.

The DGP J&K first inaugurated the Open Air Gym at Housing Colony Udhampur and in the afternoon the DGP inaugurated Open Air Gym at Sports Stadium at Reasi. The facilities are incorporated by Police Headquarter J&K through Range Police Headquarters Udhampur.

Each gym is equipped with NKS Sit Board Double station, Air Walker-Air Stroller, Chest Press outdoor GYM Equipment, Two Wheel LT-26, Twister-Outdoor Gym Equipment, Leg Press, for the exercise of different parts of the body.

During the inaugurations IGP Jammu Shri Mukesh Singh, Sh.Piyush Singla, Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, DIG Udhampur Reasi Range Shri Sujit Kumar, Smt.Indu Kanwal Chib, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, SSP Udhampur Ms Sargun Shukla, SSP Reasi Ms Rashmi Wazir, SSP Traffic NHW Ramban Shri J.S. Johar, senior citizen of these areas and other jurisdictional officers were present. These gyms have been created under the Civic Action Programme (CAP).

While interacting with the Police officers, senior citizens and children after the inauguration the DGP advised them to take full advantage of the machines which have been installed. He said that open air gyms have been installed in various cities across the country and provide a good facility to the people particularly the fitness enthusiasts near their homes in an open and natural environment with fresh air around. He said daily routine exercise is important for good health and increases the immunity to fight against coronavirus especially the elderly persons. The DGP also appealed to the public to stay home and stay safe, cooperate with the police and follow the norms of COVID-19 to contain the spread of coronavirus.

He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police have taken an initiative to provide such facilities at other places in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that recently an Open Air Gym facility was provided at Gulshan Ground Jammu.

The DGP congratulated the officers of Range Police Headquarter Udhampur for completing the task of providing Open Air Gym at Udhampur and Reasi in time as was desired by the Police Headquarters. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme are regularly taking various initiatives to benefit the general public and provide them opportunities especially to the youth of J&K to show their talent to the world.

The DGP said that in Jammu province terrorism is almost wiped out except two/ three terrorists are still active in Kishtwar district. He said that unfortunately our neighbouring country Pakistan is always prompted to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that our officers and jawans on the border and in the hinterland are ever ready to tackle such types of attempts by the Pakistan sponsored terrorists to disrupt peace and order.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police is always on the forefront to make its people safe and secure and added that an initiative has been taken by the JKP in association with the Health Department in organizing plasma screening camp at Srinagar. He said that Police personnel who had contracted the COVID 19 infection and have recovered will voluntarily donate plasma for saving the precious lives. He advised the general public to come forward in donating the Plasma to the COVID 19 infected people.

The DGP also advised the general people to come forward and help J&K Police in eradicating the menace of drugs from the society. He said that we all are bound by the social responsibility to take care of our youth who are the future of our nation. He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Drug de Addiction centers at Jammu and Srinagar are performing extremely in the right direction in rehabilitating the lives of those who were involved in drugs.

The DGP also inaugurated Conference Hall at RPHQ and chaired officers meeting to review measures taken with regard to the security, crime and COVID 19. He appreciated officers and jawans in maintaining peace and stability in the twin districts. He emphasized upon the officers to enhance their investigation skills on modern lines and also laid stress on the preventive measures to minimize the crime rate.

The DGP directed the officers to deal efficiently against social crimes including drug trafficking, crime against women and children and other heinous crimes and keep all types of crimes under check.

During the meeting the senior officers gave a detailed briefing about the crime, security scenario and preparations, precautions made with regard to COVID-19 pandemic in their districts.

Later the DGP inaugurated Lower Subordinates Quarters (LSQ) at Arnas Reasi for jawans.
