Today on 15-10-2020, Director Health Services Jammu Dr. Renu Sharma visited Community Health Centre Basohli along with Chief Medical Officer Kathua Dr. Ashok Choudhary and Nodal Officer Disaster Management Dr. Samir Padha. OHS Jammu took extensive round of the hospital to assess its working. OHS visited all the sections including OPD, IPD, labour room, laboratory, X-Ray, Ultrasound. She was accompanied by Block Medical Officer Basohli Dr. Anuradha Kerni. OHS interacted with the patients in the ward and enquired about the facilities being provided to them. She also listened patiently to the problems of the staff and assured timely intervention. DHS along with Nodal Officer Disaster management checked the status of ventilators being provided for the benefit of COVID-19 patients. She discussed the problems related to installation and operationalization of ventilators with BMO who apprised her that ventilators have been installed and will be made functional by company within few days by providing regulators. Later she also met the various delegations of Civil Society, BDC members, Sarpanch, Panch and Political parties of Basohli block. They discussed various issues related to hospital including shortage of doctors and specialists especially Physician, Surgeon and Orthopaedician. DHS assured that the post of the specialists shall be filled at the earliest. The issue of Blood Bank was also discussed and OHS assured that it will be made functional shortly. The problem regarding incomplete mortuary was also taken up by Civil Society for which DHS ensured to look into the matter. DHS was satisfied with the functioning of the hospital as all the employees including doctors and paramedics are working with dedication, zeal and passion in the present pandemic of COVID-19 to contain the spread of virus, in addition to their routine work. DHS appreciated the sanitation and hygienic condition that was well maintained in and around the hospital. OHS directed Chief Medical Officer to take all necessary steps to spread in the community the three key messages of COVID-19 Appropriate Behaviour in New Normal like wearing of mask or face cover especially in public places, following physical distancing of minimum 6 feet and maintaining hand hygiene, in the light of unlock and the festivals in coming months to break the chain in transmission of COVID-19.
