Jammu, June 13: In stringent action against narco smuggling, team of P/S Bagh e Bahu apprehended drug peddler and seized 175 Kgs. poppy straw from his illegal possession.

Police team of P/S Bagh e Bahu during Naka duty at Bravo 3 Naka NHW near forest office Bagh e Bahu stopped one Truck bearing registration No. PB65AS-6457 for checking. On seeing the Police, driver of the truck tried to flee away from the spot. He was chased and apprehended. During search of the vehicle, 175 Kgs. of poppy straw like substance was recovered from his possession which he had concealed in special cavity made in the truck. Driver was identified as Lab Singh S/o Gurmeet Singh R/o Bamni Gurdaspur, Punjab.

PS Bagh e Bahu arrested the accused, seized narcotic and registered a case FIR No. 53/2020 under section 8/15 NDPS and started investigation into the case.
