Kulgam,24-Mar ; With its “decisive” war against drugs, Kulgam Police have registered 60 FIRs against the drug peddlers across the district within Two month.As per official reports, Kulgam police have arrested 72 so-called peddlers of the big drug mafia to a large scale and registered 60 FIRs against them.On the directions of higher authorities, of Police have already launched a drive against the drug mafia as many people in Kulgam complained that a youth gang was found involved in it, on which the Kulgam police stepped in swiftly. SSP Kulgam Sahil Saringal told CNS that they have registered 60 FIRs in a month and 72 arrested peddlers and this campaign will continue till Kulgam Police makes the mission drugs free Kulgam successful. “The district had gained notoriety over the past few years. However, Police have also fought a war against it and they have been successful. I appeal to people to cooperate with the police and pay the ransom in full so that we can rid Kulgam of all the infamous and unscrupulous drug peddlers”, SSP added.Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Dr. Bilal Mohiuddin Bhat, said that the drug peddlers will not be spared because many youths in the district were found involved in it and till date many lives have been lost in Kulgam district. “The aim of this drive is to seek the cooperation of society in eradicating the social evils prevailing in society, particularly the menace of drugs”, DC added.
