Kulgam 09 June, CNS: In a decisive war against drugs, Kulgam police have registered a total of 109 FIRs against the drug peddlers across the district within four months.
As per an official, at least 109 FIRs were registered against the ones peddling drugs in the district. “On the directions of higher authorities, the concerned police officers of the district launched a drive against the drug mafia after receiving many complaints about a gang that was found involved in it,” the official said.
SSP Kulgam Sahil Saringal told news agency CNS that they have registered 109 FIRs in four months under NDPS act and arrested many drug peddlers and this campaign would continue till the district becomes drug free.
“The district had gained notoriety over the past few years due to the rampant drugs. However, police fought a war against it and they became successful in it,” SSP said, adding that he appealed to people to cooperate with the police so that they can save the district from all the unscrupulous elements dealing with drugs.
He further said that the police have waged an all-out war against drug peddlers and whosoever is found dealing with drugs will not be spared at any cost.
