KATHUA, FEBRUARY 21: To encourage its cultivation and consumption, the Kathua unit of Agriculture Production and Farmers’ Welfare Department initiated Oyster Mushroom cultivation in the campuses of Indian Army and Jammu Kashmir Police in Kathua.A team of experts from Mushroom Development Scheme, Kathua installed 100 Spawned Oyster Mushroom bags in the campus of Supply Depot IN 493 ASC, Janglote, in presence of C.O. Major Ankit Sheokh and Sub. D.S.Rana.Similarly, Team of experts comprising Mushroom Development Officer, Kathua Ashwani Sharma, Mushroom Development Assistant (Incharge) Kathua Kailash Sharma and Agriculture Extension Assistant, Kathua Vinay Gupta also installed 120 Spawned Oyster Mushroom bags in District Police Lines.The activity was done in presence of DIG. Jammu-Samba-Kathua Range Shakti Pathak and S.S.P Kathua Shivdeep Singh Jamwal.The team of experts also briefed about the benefits of Oyster Mushroom which is of high medicinal and nutritive value besides a good source of protein and high nutritive value.
