Srinagar, 07-Apr: Militants managed their escape from an encounter that broke out Wednesday evening in Shopian district of south Kashmir.On Wednesday night, a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Haripora Imamsahib area.As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter.Official sources confirmed that the operation went on through the night after initial exchange of fire. However, was called off in the morning as no contact was established with the militants. (CNS)
