Srinagar, 12-Mar:Four militants were killed and one was captured alive during multiple overnight encounters in North, South and Central Kashmir. Police said five simultaneous operations were launched by joint security forces overnight, in which four militants were killed across three districts of Pulwama, Ganderbal and Handwara. “We had launched joint #operations at 4-5 locations yesterday night. So far 2 terrorists of JeM including one Pakistani killed in Pulwama. One terrorist of LeT killed each in Ganderbal & Handwara. Encounters are over in Handwara & Pulwama. Also arrested 01 terrorist alive,” the Kashmir Zone Police tweeted quoting Vijay Kumar, Inspector General Of Police, Kashmir.As per police Two of the militants belonged to the Jaish-e-Mohammad, including one from Pakistan, while the other two belonged to the Lashkar-e-Taiba. Police said one militant was also captured during an operation. Meanwhile, Police added that Jash-e-Mohammad Commander was among two militants killed in a gunfight in Chewaklan Pulwama where a one person also sustained injuries in right leg, officials said on Saturday.“Pakistani (militant) killed in Pulwama encounter has been identified as JeM commander Kamaal Bhai alias Jatt,” the IGP said. Jatt was active since 2018 in Pulwama-Shopian area and was involved in several cases, the IGP said. (CNS)
