Srinagar 01Sep: The residents of Bemina and the adjoining areas are up in arms demanding transfer of AEE LAWDA.Earlier on Wednesday, a delegation from the colony alleged that they have been rehabilitated to this place 11 years but still sans every developmental facility as the concerned officer has never given an ear to their pleas. We have been protesting against the erring official for his behavior towards the locals of the area and have informed officials but unfortunately all the Promises and assurances proved fake. The claims of successive regimes to provide basic facilities to the people here are proving hoax on the ground as the officer is creating hurdles in providing basic facilities, thus leaving the locals to lurch at large. “The colony lacks even basic amenities like water, electricity, roads and proper drainage system for which residents have always been longing for. The condition of the area is such that even a little shower results in inundation of the lanes and bylanes of the area. The continued indifference demonstrated by the concerned official has fortified our belief that the residential area being inhabited by the poorest of the poor people is destined to suffer neglect by the powers that be, they said. The matter was immediately communicated by with Vice-Chairman LAWDA Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat who assured that the colony will be provided with every updated facility. On being asked about the complaint against AEE, Bhat said,” No such complaint has came into my notice,The locals have appealed the Lieutenant Governor, Divisional Administration and VC Lawda to visit the area to have a feel of the ground situation in the colony and its surroundings and order for immediate redressal of our grievances by transferring the AEE so that provisions for proper drainage system, macadamizing, water supply can be made at earliest.(CNS)
