Former Jammu & Kashmir chief minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday sparked a controversy by stating that the “communal” political parties are not less than ISIS because they both have killed people in the name of religion and communalism.While speaking to mediapersons here, on the sidelines of a party workers meet at the PDP headquarters, Mehboba said that BJP/RSS have hijacked Hinduism/Hindutva in the name of their parties because they feel that Hinduism/Hindutva are RSS/BJP, but that is not true.Reacting to Salman Khurshid’s book, the PDP chief said, “I think it’s not about Hindutva or Hinduism, the real Sanatan Dharam doesn’t teach communalism. It’s RSS, Jansangh and BJP, who are communalising the situation by making people fight all over the country.“Communal parties can be compared with IS (Islamic State). Those that make Hindus and Muslims fight in the name of religion. They can be compared with the IS or any other party, because both of them kill people in the name of religion,”She asked how are people who kill in the name of religion different from people who lynch in the name of religion.“As there is a saying “Vasudev Kutumbkam”, which means the whole world is a family and Hinduism/Hindutva teaches us that, Mufti said.(CNS )
