Anantnag, 09-Nov; At least three domestic animals were killed by a black bear in Aishmuqam area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday morning.Reports said that a black bear barged into the cowshed of a resident namely Abdul Majeed Bala, in the wee hours of Tuesday, and killed at least three domestic animals before he was chased away by local people.Despite public outcry, Locals alleged that PDD has cut the power supply of all street lights and wild life Department being aware of the frequent moving of wild bears and other wild animals in the area and have not taken cognizance and precautions for this and have turned mute specters.Meanwhile, President Mohd Yaqoob Gadiyal and intizaamia committee of Aishmuqam shrine has appealed the District and sub District administration, Wild Life Department, police and PDD to come to the rescue of the victims and potential targets by doing all possible for the public safety and for the safety of domestic animals.They further urged district administration to compensate the affected family on priority basis.(CNS)
