Court Directs Education Department to Make “’No Vehicle policy for Minors”’ Convicts Father for allowing his Minor Son to Drive.

    Srinagar, 02 Dec: Traffic Court Srinagar has directed Education Department to Make Policy to restrain Minors from Driving.According to Hon’ble Court of Special Additional Traffic Court on Thursday directed Commissioner Secretary Education department to make policy like “No Vehicle policy for Minors” in education institutes for noble cause that may save many lives Traffic Judge, Shabir Ahmad Malik while passing order Said that we all are responsible as a society. Parents, guardians are responsible for providing vehicle to their minor children, Principals/Teachers /in charge of education institutes/coaching centers are also responsible for allowing minor students to use the vehicle.Court Said, it is observed many times that students driving vehicle, riding bikes in and around schools or crowded places resulting accidents / loss of lives. It is the first and foremost duty of parents not to provide their minor children any vehicle unless they attain majority and have license to drive the vehicle. It is also the duty of Principals/Teachers not to allow the minor students to drive the vehicles and impart education regarding these issues.Court While Convicting the Father of Minor for allowing his Minor Son to drive also directed to circulate the Judgment to all the Educational institutes along with the Motor Vehicle Act, So as to contribute to this noble cause that may save many live.“’As by allowing minor to drive we are only producing victims and violators and not responsible citizens”, court said.(CNS)
