DGP sanctions Rs 2.8 cr special welfare relief, ex-gratia relief

    Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh sanctioned Rs 1.70 crore as Special Welfare Relief in favour 10 police personnel and SPOs & Rs 38 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of dependents and legal heirs of a slain police official.According to a statement issued to the news agency DGP sanctioned Rs 38 lakh ex-gratia relief in favour of NoKs of SgCt Mohammad Yousf Bajad, who was killed in a militant attack.The special welfare relief of Rs 20 lakh each has been sanctioned in favour of dependents/legal heirs of deceased police personnel SI Barfu Ram, L/ASI Hanefa Begum, HC Swaran Singh, L/SgCt. Babita Manhas, Devinder Kumar, Deepak Sharma, follower Rapinderjeet Singh who expired during service due to health-related issues and Ct. Nisar Ahmad who was killed in a militant attack in Kulgam.Besides, special relief of Rupees 5 lakh each has also been sanctioned in favour of NoKs of deceased SPOs Jagar Nath and Farooq Ahmad Ganie who expired due to illness during the course of their engagement with the department.Out of this amount (special welfare relief) rupees one lakh each has already been paid to the families/NoKs for performing the last rites as immediate relief by the PHQ through their concerned units/Districts. The financial assistance has been given out of the Contributory Police Welfare Fund
