Dilapidated condition of roads in kakapora Pulwama irks locals

    Pulwama , 28-Jan : The residents of localities of south Kashmir’s Kakapora area of Pulwama district on Friday accused the district administration of subjecting them to inconvenience due to the dilapidated condition of several roads including main road from Pulwama to Srinagar in front of Govt. Higher Secondary School Kakapora. Locals said that the road connecting Pulwama to Srinagar via kakapora for instance, has developed huge potholes as the concerned department has failed to repair the road.“This particular road is in extremely bad condition, especially at in front of Government Higher secondary school kakapora.The dusty condition of this stretch makes it hard to commute through this place while in the event of rain, the road turns muddy and slippery, making it impossible to even walk or travel, using a two-wheeler,” said the locals.The patients, women and students are suffering badly due to this so called road as it remains filled with water at many places.The locals further added that the conditions of other link roads is one such example which is in a pathetic condition while the other link roads of the Kakapora area also craving for official attention.They said that the bad conditions of roads not only give the commuters a tough time but it also consumes a lot of their time in reaching from one place to another.“The passenger vehicles have suffered damages due to the bad condition of the roads.Locals of Kakapora area accuse the authorities of neglect which has resulted in the creation of huge potholes on the road. They said that they have apprised the concerned authorities on many occasions but they have never paid any heed towards their repeated pleas.The residents of kakapora areas now appeal the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and Deputy Commissioner Pulwama to personally look into the matter in order to have redressal of their grievances.(CNS)
