Encounter breaks out in Shopian

Srinagar, 09-May; Encounter broke out between militants and government forces in Shirmal Zainapora South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Monday.Sources told CNS that a joint team of Police, Army’s 44RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Heff Shirmal.As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an encounter.Officials confirmed about the exchange of firing between militants and security forces.(CNS)
