Family cries death due to SKIMS negligence

    Srinagar, 20-Sep; The family of young man Fayaz Ahmad Dar(36) resident of Methan Chanapora who died on 16 September after complaining severe chest pain alleged that it was death due to negligence of doctors at SK Institute of Medical Sciences Soura, where he was hospitalized for treatment.”He was rushed to SKIMS at 6am under a card number 2133252. Till 8 pm no senior doctor was present there. Despite complaining of chest pain he was given anti-acid injection”The family later entered into a verbal brawl with the doctors after the patient’s entire record was confiscated.However, Medical Superintendent SKIMS termed the allegations as baseless, saying that the doctors here treat every patient as per the protocol and assured full support to the family in their enquiry.“We have been working overtime to cater to the rush of patients. There was no negligence at all. The doctors have tried their best to save the patient and treat him as per the protocol, still if the family of deceased want any kind of probe I assure my full support to them.” he said—The family demanded an impartial probe into the alleged negligence.(CNS)
