Pattan 26 Feb: The residents of Hanjiwera Payeen village of Sub division Pattan on Saturday staged a protest against the department of public health engineering (PHE) against the non-availability of drinking water in the area.Protestors alleged that despite Spending Huge amount on Jal Jevan Mission Scheme, PHE Department has failed to Provide Drinking Water to the locals.According to Locals of Hanjiwera Payeen village Protested against the Mismanagement of AEE and JE PHE Sub Divisional Pattan and Blocked Srinagar Baramulla National Highway.Protesters while alleging the Rude and un Satisfactory behaviour of JE PHE Sub Division Pattan demanded his immediate transfer and Drinking Water on daily basis till final arrangements.Meanwhile Traffic was Halted on Baramulla National Highway due to which the Commuters had to suffer. However, On the assurance of Tehsildar Pattan Saqib Murtaza, Protesters later Pacified Peacefully.It is Pertain to mention here that the villagers of the Said area are protesting since decades but unfortunately till date No drinking water facility has been provided to them by Jal Shakti Department Baramulla.(CNS
