Kashmir was cut off from rest of the country on Monday as the arterial Jammu-Srinagar national highway and Mughal road were closed due to snowfall across the Valley, leaving nearly 4,500 vehicles stranded.“The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway is closed due to accumulation of snow at many places, especially around Jawahar Tunnel,” an official of the Traffic Control Department said.He said snow clearance operations were in full swing and efforts were on to restore movement of 4,500 stranded vehicles along the 260-kilometre road.Srinagar: A light intensity earthquake occurred in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday as the authorities confirmed there were no reports of casualty or damage to property recieved so far. The earthquake measured 3.5 on the Richter scale and it’s epicentre was in Bandipora. IANSSrinagar: Air traffic to and from Srinagar remained suspended for the second consecutive day on Monday due to poor visibility caused by snowfall, officials said. “The runway has been cleared of snow but flights had to be cancelled due to poor visibility,” an airport authority official said.
