District administration Kishtwar today named the approach road to College Community Hall and its extension upto village Panditgam after Shaheed Lance Naik Lachman Dass.A renaming ceremony was organised as per the government’s decision of renaming the local government schools and public infrastructure like roads and buildings after martyrs’ names, who died in the line of duty.Additional District Development Commissioner Sham Lal in presence of Assistant Commissioner Panchayat Kishtwar, Zakir Hussain, BDO Mugalmaidan, Arun Badyal, Xen PWD R& B Kishtwar, Ramesh Jamwal, family members of Marty, Municipal Councilor ward No 9 Shabir Ahmed, prominent citizens and police personnel attended the programme.The formal ceremony started with unveiling of Signages followed by floral tribute to the Martyr.Earlier, 4 educational institutions have been named by District administration after the names of martyrs of Indian Army soldiers, CRPF, and police personnel who hailed from district Kishtwar and were killed in line of duty.Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC Kishtwar recalled the valour of the war hero, who laid his life in the 1962 Indo-China war.He expressed gratitude to the family members of martyr Sh. Laxman Dass for their strength and courage and said that he will remain the pride and inspiration for all future generations.
