KU IT Professionals Decries Smear Campaign, Threatens Legal Action if Campaign not Stopped

    Srinagar , July 9: The IT professionals from University of Kashmir alleged that a smear campaign has been launched by some least known publications aimed to damage the reputation of Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri, who is presently in charge Director, Information Technology & Support System in the varsity. “Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri is an unqualified man, relative of two Vice-Chancellors, is Director, IT&SS for the last five years and KU management has thrown rulebook to the winds is not true, a clear attempt to malign and blackmail the individual for their own vested interests” the smear complain by some persons had mentioned.While denying the allegations as false and baseless IT professionals from the university in a statement issued to said that the publishing agency without ascertaining the basics of the case, has disputed the award of Ph.D. degree to Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri by the University of Kashmir.“When the fact remains that he was eligible for the post of Director even without the Ph.D degree” the statement added.While denying the other allegations the statement added that making a mention of the two Vice-Chancellors in the published story that they are relatives of Dr. Maroof Naieem Qadri has nothing to do either with his qualifications or his appointment in this University.“His relative who happened to be the Vice Chancellor had retired well before his any appointment in the University of Kashmir, neither Prof. Andrabi, Former Vice-Chancellor is husband of Dr. Maroof’s any maternal cousin” it adds.Meanwhile the IT professionals refuted all the allegations and threatened to file the defamation case against the publication agency for blackmailing an honest and dedicated officer.
