Kulgam, 26-Nov: Farmers in Kulgam district are facing challenges of the supply of fertilizers. As a result, they are being forced to buy fertilisers from dealers who are charging inflated rates. According to some farmers, dealers in kulgam district are allegedly charging double the price for a 50 kg-packet of DAP.Meanwhile, Chief Agriculture Officer Kulgam , Farooq Ahmed while speaking to said that the Department has intensified the market checking across kulgam to regulate the availability of fertilizers.”The checking squads in district will impose fine on the erring fertilizer dealers under relevant acts. The Department has tightened noose against the erring dealers and warned them of action under law for resorting to black marketing and over pricing of fertilizers”, he said(CNS).
